Both sides have to say yes. A request that has not been accepted grants nothing: no marks, no lists, no trips, not even the rows on a profile.
Visibility per item
Every log, list and trip carries its own setting. Something can be for your friends, or for nobody but you.
Contacts never leave
Finding friends by address book happens on the device. Numbers are scrambled into fingerprints before anything is sent, the fingerprints cannot be read back, and no phone number is ever stored on the server.
Sign in with Apple
No password to pick, and none to lose. Hide My Email works, because the address is never shown to anybody else anyway.
